Speaking to reporters in Ottawa on Wednesday, NDP leader Jagmeet Singh called on more government support of nurses amid the current health-care crisis by recognizing international training, accelerating immigration processes and hiring more long-term workers to free up space in hospitals. Adding that nurses are “heartbroken” and “burned out” from the current situation, Singh stressed they are working to the best of their ability but need more support.
