On Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2022, chief coroner Lisa Lapointe presents an overview of the drug toxicity fatalities in B.C. since a public health emergency was declared in April 2016. Lapointe shows the trends of 2022 and who and where people are dying across British Columbia. She says it is not a crisis focused on any one particular type of person but that “anybody who uses any drugs that they purchase off the illicit market is at risk.”
