China military threat still remains, Taiwan’s president says

Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen said Thursday that the threat from Chinese military forces had not abated, but the self-ruled island would not escalate or provoke disputes. She also described herself as “deeply touched” by military efforts to defend the island.
