White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on Friday the administration was “saddened” after two people were killed and two were critically injured Thursday during a lightning strike in Lafayette Park in Washington, D.C. The two who died were originally taken to hospital in critical condition but died from their injuries. It was not immediately clear if they were directly hit by lightning or struck by a fallen tree.
