John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the U.S. National Security Council, said on Tuesday that the response by China since U.S. Speaker Nancy Pelosi arrived in Taiwan has “thus far” been “consistent with the playbook we expected them to run.” On Monday, Kirby had said some of these would include announcing live-fire exercises and flying across the median line.
