Pope Francis spoke with a delegation of Indigenous Peoples at the Archbishop of Quebec’s residence on Friday as he ends his six-day tour of Canada. “I have come as a brother,” Francis said. “I have come in a spirit of penance, to express my heartfelt pain at the wrong inflicted on you by not just a few Catholics who supported oppressive and unjust policies.”
