Steve Bannon appears in court in Washington on contempt of Congress charge

Former Donald Trump advisor Steve Bannon appeared in person in a Washington, D.C. courthouse on Monday morning to face charges of contempt of Congress. Bannon has claimed executive privilege prevents him from testifying — even though he left his role in government years prior to the Jan. 6, 2021 U.S. capitol riots which are the subject of ongoing Congressional hearings.
