Speaking about Canada’s decision to allow Siemens Canada to return six turbines to Russia’s Gazprom, Conservative MP James Bezan told members of the House of Commons foreign affairs committee that if Canada suspends sanctions against Russia on a temporary basis, those sanctions “mean nothing.” Bezan also warned that revenues generated by Gazprom would contribute to the Russian invasion, by allowing its military to purchase weapons like cruise missiles and artillery.
