Jason Van Tatenhove, former media director for the far-right anti-government militia group Oath Keepers, as well as self-identified ex-Trump supporter Stephen Ayres, provided testimonies Tuesday on their participation in the lead-up to Jan. 6 and Trump’s influence on their actions. “The president got everybody riled up, told everybody to head on down. So we were basically just following what he said,” Ayres told the congressional committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riot.
