Several people were sent to hospital Sunday evening after a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 401.
Just before 6:30 p.m., emergency crews were called to the westbound lanes of the highway near County Road 23 in Grafton, for reports of a collision between a transport truck and five vehicles.
A 19-year-old woman was airlifted to Sunnybrook hospital in Toronto and multiple others were transported to Northumberland Hills Hospital.
One driver involved tells Global News that she heard a screech behind her before she was struck by a vehicle that was hit by a transport truck.
The driver says it looked like the transport truck had plowed through multiple vehicles before coming to a full stop.
Highway 401 westbound was closed for several hours as the OPP investigated the incident.
