Fit2Sit: Emergency Room triage program in Kawartha Lakes tackles patient offload delays

For almost a month, Kawartha Lakes Paramedic Service and Ross Memorial Hospital have been piloting a new program called ‘Fit2Sit’ that looks to free up paramedic resources by shortening offload delays when bringing in patients. With this program, paramedics determine whether a patient is ‘fit to sit’ and therefore safe to leave in the emergency waiting room while they answer more calls for service.
