Speaking in Toronto on Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland shared the Canadian government’s $8.9-billion plan to combat the challenges of inflation. While the measures were all previously announced, Freeland said cutting childcare costs while increasing rent supports and supports for low-income workers are all social policies key to combatting rising prices.
