U.S. FDA recommends Moderna, Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines for children under 5

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) unanimously recommended both the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines for children under five, the only age group that remained ineligible to get the shot. Moderna’s is for those six months to five years, while Pfizer’s is for six months to four years. While it’s the latest step, it would still need the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to weigh in for final approval – but if received this week, the shots could be rolled out by as early as next week.
