Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino said on Tuesday the government has tabled a new cybersecurity bill in the House of Commons, that aims to require businesses and private sector organizations to report ransomware attacks to the government or face monetary penalties. The bill would give regulators the power to run audits to ensure the private sector is in compliance.
