Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly commented Monday on reports a Canadian official had attended Russia Day celebrations at the country’s embassy in Canada, saying the “buck stops here” and that it should never have happened. According to reports, it was a deputy protocol chief in Canada’s global affairs department that attended the event. She said they would ensure it wouldn’t happen again, but didn’t specify how.
