U.S. Rep. Elaine Luria on NBC’s Meet the Press Sunday said that the Jan. 6 committee does have hard evidence that multiple Republican members of Congress requested pardons from former president Donald Trump following the riot at the Capitol. On the first day of the live hearings this week, Rep. Liz Cheney said the congressmen sought pardons for their roles “in attempting to overturn the 2020 election.” Luria would not, however, say how many members, only that it would be part of their upcoming hearings.
