Speaking at an Ottawa press conference on Thursday, Sen. Salma Ataullahjan made a plea to the Canadian government to not put a cap on the number of Afghan refugees it accepts, including for women whose situation is especially volatile due to the Taliban rule. All 40,000 refugee slots are currently filled.
