Close call for a Kelowna man injured in fire highlights importance of smoke detectors in bedrooms

A man who recently sustained burn injuries while sleeping in his Kelowna apartment is now out of hospital. The cause of the fire is undetermined but last week’s close call has the fire department urging everyone to make sure they have a working smoke detector in their bedrooms–even though it’s not required in all buildings.
