The traumatic brain injury unit at the Montreal General Hospital is set to close soon due to a nursing shortage. The unit treats accident victims, strokes or serious head injuries. The unit provides complex care which needs nurses with high-level medical skills. As Global’s Phil Carpenter explains in this exclusive report, the move comes after the thoracic surgery closed earlier in May for the same reason.
