Monkeypox can be contained if we act now, WHO officials say

The World Health Organization’s (WHO) Global Infectious Hazard Preparedness director Sylvie Briand said on Friday that the priority needs to be containing monkeypox in non-endemic countries, saying that this can be achieved through quick action. Rosamund Lewis, WHO head of the smallpox secretariat, added that “contact tracing, investigation and isolation” remain the most important methods of control for the time-being.
