The Vanderburg County Sheriff’s office said during a news conference on Tuesday that a former Alabama jail official and an inmate that she was accused of helping escape had a cache of weapons when they were caught by U.S. Marshall’s in Evansville, Indiana the day before. Sheriff Dave Wedding shared a picture of the arsenal of weapons they found in the crashed vehicle, saying “any one of these weapons could have been used to ambush our officers while they were attempting to capture a murder suspect.”
