Speaking in front of the European Parliament on Wednesday, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen called for a ban on all Russian oil entering the European Union (EU). Von der Leyen also said there are plans to remove Russia’s largest bank Sberbank from the international financial transaction system Swift, while also outlining a punishing new round of sanctions levied against high-ranking military officials and those responsible for war crimes in Bucha and the siege of Mariupol.
