At Madeleine Albright’s funeral in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, President Joe Biden honoured the late U.S. Secretary of State by giving the first tribute. “In the 20th and 21st century, freedom had no greater champion than Madeleine Korbel Albright,” said Biden. Albright, who fled the Nazis as a child in her native Czechoslovakia during the Second World War, was the first woman to hold that position and died at 84 years old on March 23.
