Federal Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations Marc Miller announced $326,000 of funding to support First Nations projects during a visit to the Sipekne’katik First Nation, north of Halifax, on Wednesday. Targeted for research, memorialization and search operations, it is part of an ongoing response by the federal government to the discovery of unmarked graves near the sites of former residential schools across Canada. “This is just the tip of the iceberg,” said Miller in regards to the initial funding amount.
