VPD officers ruled ‘reckless’ in arrest of Indigenous family

It’s the ruling Maxwell Johnson and the Heiltsuk First Nation have been waiting for. the Indigenous man was wrongfully arrested alongside his granddaughter more than two years ago. Now, a retired judge has ruled the actions of the officers involved were “disturbing and reckless” — and they will face disciplinary action. Catherine Urquhart reports.
