Herron care home owners’ desperate 811 calls during first wave revealed

Recordings have been released of desperate phone calls by the owners of the Herron long-term care facility to the province’s health helpline at the peak of the first wave of the pandemic. The calls were cries for help on how to handle staff shortages amid a COVID-19 outbreak after efforts to reach local health authorities failed. Global’s Gloria Henriquez reports.
