A family has said goodbye to an old home on Cobourg Harbour.
Members of the Ribble family gathered on the weekend to tell stories and reminisce on the 16 years they lived in the lighthouse keeper’s home.
Evelyn Ribble, her husband Murray and their three children moved into the home in December, 1964.
Murray’s job was to maintain the lights, motors and ship markers in the lighthouse to make sure everything was in proper working order for both the lighthouse and the foghorn.
At the time, nothing was automated.
On Tuesday, the home was destroyed, but the family says those years of happy memories will last forever.
