U.S. President Joe Biden on Saturday said that there was “simply no justification or provocation for Russia’s choice of war” in Ukraine, saying that it was an example of humanity’s basic impulses, “using brute force and disinformation to satisfy a craving for absolute power and control.” He added that it was a “direct challenge” to the rules-based international order established since the end of the Second World War.
