Indigenous Catholic priest says Pope apology would be important step in healing and reconciliation

An First Nations delegation is heading to the Vatican on March 28 for meetings with Pope Francis, and Indigenous Catholic priest Father Cristino Bouvette said an apology from the church over the harms caused by Canada’s residential school system would be an important next step for healing and reconciliation.
