Unifor Quebec director Renaud Gagné announced Wednesday that former president Jerry Dias, who announced earlier in the day he would be entering a rehabilitation facility, had been charged with breaching the union’s constitution. He said that an internal investigation found Dias had accepted $50,000 from a supplier of COVID-19 rapid tests that he promoted to employers of Unifor members.
Unifor represents more than 310,000 Canadian workers, including Global News employees.
