Alleged backlog of criminal files in Kelowna called ‘grossly inaccurate’ by B.C. Prosecution Service

The B.C. Prosecution Service (BCPS) refuted Kelowna RCMP’ stats on criminal files that have been forwarded to Crown counsel. Editors note: A previous version of the story said the BC Prosecution Service said the lack of funding threatens public safety, that is incorrect. The BC Crown Counsel Association said the provincial government needs to allocate more funding to its Kelowna office. Global News regrets the error.
