Speaking at the United Nations on Monday, Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly said “Russia lied” when it said it wasn’t positioning equipment and troops to invade Ukraine, along with other contradictions. “The Russian invasion of Ukraine, the largest threat to global peace in seven decades, is a cold, calculated and carefully planned series of events by the Kremlin,” she added.
