Ottawa Police Chief Peter Sloly says the police department has done everything it can with the resources it has over the past 24 hours, significantly reducing the “footprint” of the trucker demonstrations in the city by towing trucks, laying charges and making arrests. “Our arrests are up, our charges are up and we’re towing more trucks…and we’re able to negotiate with demonstrators in a more forceful way,” he said.
