Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby said on Wednesday that the U.S. will deploy additional troops to Eastern Europe from the U.S. in the coming days amid the ongoing crisis on the Ukrainian border with Russia. The U.S. will also reposition troops in Germany to Romania in the coming days. Kirby reiterated the moves are temporary and those troops won’t fight in Ukraine.
