Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland called on political leaders of all parties on Monday to speak out against what she said were “unacceptable” acts during the protest against COVID-19 mandates that took place in Ottawa over the weekend. She said such events, including the desecration of the Terry Fox statue and the brandishing of hate symbols, had been a shock to both her and her children.
