Airdrie boy with broken leg rushed to hospital in firetruck after ambulances unavailable

A “red alert” or “code red” is when there aren’t any ambulances available to respond to calls — and the frequency of them occurring has increased across Alberta in recent months. Now, a mother in Airdrie is speaking out after her son, who broke his leg, had to be taken to hospital in a firetruck because no ambulances were available. Michael King reports.
