Hong Kong independent online publication Citizen News said on Monday its decision to shut down was triggered by the closure of pro-democracy media outlet Stand News following a police raid and seven arrests. Citizen News said it will cease operations on Tuesday, describing the media environment as “deteriorating,” and citing the need to ensure the safety of its staff.
