Officials are urging people to check on elderly neighbours and friends during upcoming cold snap

B.C.’s Public Safety Minister Mike Farnworth, the CEO of the B.C. Care Providers Association Terry Lake and B.C. Seniors Advocate Isobel Mackenzie are all asking the public to be aware of the dangers winter weather could pose for seniors. It seems this comes form lessons learned during the heat dome in June when B.C.’s Coroner Service say almost 600 people died due to that weather event.
