Just days after testing positive for COVID-19 herself, Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante and her executive committee have renewed the city’s state of emergency decree. This will give the city the power to reallocate funds to help manage the pandemic. Among the priorities for the Plante administration is helping Montreal’s homeless shelters cope with the escalating situation.
