World Health Organization (WHO) director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Monday there is “consistent evidence” the Omicron COVID-19 variant is growing faster than the Delta variant, and it’s “more likely that people who have been vaccinated or have recovered…could be infected or reinfected.” WHO chief scientist Soumya Swaminathan added, however, that “it would be very dangerous to jump to the conclusion that the vaccines are not working.”
