China’s ambassador to Canada Cong Peiwu reacted on Tuesday to the United States’ announcement that its officials would not attend the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, stating that the games “should not be politicized.” However, he also claimed China had not extended an invitation to those same officials, saying “actually no one cares about whether… their officials will be there.”
