Waukesha Police Chief Daniel Thompson said on Sunday that more than 20 people were struck by a vehicle after an SUV drove through crowds of people who were either participating in a Christmas parade or watching the event earlier that day. Thompson said some of those struck were fatally injured. He says police have a “person of interest” in custody after an officer discharged his weapon to stop the vehicle.
