B.C. announced plans Friday to permanently phase out mink farming in the province due to the ongoing risks of the COVID-19 virus. There is now a permanent ban on breeding mink and a permanent ban on live mink farms will be in place by April 2023. Operations must cease completely by 2025. Agriculture Minister Lana Popham explains.
