No injuries were reported after a transport truck trailer got stuck underneath a bridge in Cobourg on Sunday evening.
The incident occurred around 7:40 p.m. at the CN Rail bridge on Burnham Street. The vehicle was travelling southbound when it got stuck.
Debris from the trailer’s roof littered the roadway.
Burnham Street from King Street West to Westwood Drive was closed until the transport could be removed and the bridge ‘s integrity was reviewed by CP Rail officials.
Approximately 18 rolls of paper weighing 3,500 pounds was offloaded Monday afternoon.
The driver was charged with disobeying a sign under the Highway Traffic Act.
Burnham St. reopened around 3 p.m. Monday.
