Mixed reaction from B.C. chiefs to Trudeau’s visit to Kamloops, B.C.

First Nations chiefs in B.C. gave mixed reviews to the prime minister’s visit to Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc in Kamloops, B.C. on Mon. Oct. 18, 2021. Justin Trudeau apologized repeatedly for his absence from the community on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and vowed to partner on their healing journey, but all chiefs agreed, “actions speak louder than words.”
