White House press secretary Jen Psaki said on Monday that U.S. President Joe Biden is receiving “regular updates” about the State Department and FBI efforts to rescue the U.S. missionaries kidnapped in Haiti, but said she could not provide more details about their identities. Concerning the issue of deporting Haitian migrants in the U.S., Psaki said they are at lower risk of being targeted because kidnapping plots are usually centred on Americans “who are presumed to have the funding and ability to pay those ransoms.”
