Speaking at the 40th annual National Peace Officers’ Memorial on Saturday, U.S. President Joe Biden praised the “heroism” of Capitol Police officers who he said “thwarted an unconstitutional and fundamentally un-American attack” when a mob of pro-Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol building in a bid to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
