On Wednesday, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended the first ever vaccine for the prevention of malaria. Officials with the organization called it a “glimmer of hope” for Africa. The WHO recommendation is for RTS,S, or Mosquirix, a vaccine developed by British drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline.
