White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said on Friday that U.S. President Joe Biden would be travelling to Capitol Hill amid ongoing talks over an infrastructure spending bill and a social-spending bill, to “make the case” for his legislative agenda. Progressives have vowed to block the $1 trillion infrastructure bill without an agreement to advance a larger social spending and climate change bill, while moderates say that bill’s current $3.5 trillion price tag is too high.
