Based on new advice from the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI), New Brunswick chief medical officer of health Dr. Jennifer Russell said on Wednesday that starting in early October, a COVID-19 booster shot will be offered to seniors living in long-term care homes and other congregate settings, who’ve already received their first two doses of an mRNA vaccine. Russell added that the plan is to administer the booster shot alongside the annual flu vaccine.
